Laser Scan Technician (Hybrid/Flex)
Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact: we're hiring a Laser Scan Technician. This role's primary function is to capture high-quality laser scan data on-site at project locations using laser scanners and associated tools. When not engaged in field scanning activities, the Laser Scan Technician will support project teams through Revit modeling, drafting, and related production work. Modeling responsibilities may include developing models from point cloud data as well as general project modeling unrelated to laser scanning.
Your role:
Work with the Scanning team to plan and execute scan projects.
Safely travel to and effectively conduct laser scanning at project sites.
Focus on details at the project site and determine areas that require additional scan coverage.
Perform post-processing of scan data, including registering scans and preparing point clouds as required.
Develop Revit models and produce construction documentation in accordance with VAA standards and project requirements. Work may include modeling derived from point cloud data as well as general project modeling assignments.
Complete required VAA and all site-specific safety training as necessary. Adhere to safety protocols.
Assist with maintenance of laser scanning equipment.
Communicate regularly with team regarding scheduling, workload, and project progress.
Effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
Ability to travel up to 75% of yearly hours, including some international travel.
Physical Requirements:
Move and lift moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) to, from, and around project sites.
Walking on uneven terrain, climbing, and standing is required for the majority of time while on site.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments includes tight spaces, elevated locations, and varying weather conditions, including extreme temperature variations.
Your resume must include:
Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher OR at least one year of directly related experience.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Starting Hourly Range: $23.00 - $30.00. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer including, but not limited to, market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.

How OUR HIRING PRocess Works

VAA will review your application and contact you if your background meets our hiring needs. (This generally takes 1-2 weeks.)
Our interview process varies by group. Candidates may participate in phone, virtual, and/or in-person interviews. Most candidates will participate in 1-2 rounds of interviews.
We will notify you as soon as possible. If you receive an offer, the manager will call you, followed by a written offer from Human Resources.
