About Drew Burton
For Drew, the success of his colleagues is as satisfying to him as his own success. He has even taken on increasing roles in recruiting, training and managing direct reports, and he supports the success of broader project teams through his efforts in coordination and QA/QC.
As a 20-year veteran with VAA, Drew is a Senior Structural Designer responsible for designing and drafting a variety of structural projects in VAA’s industrial, agribusiness and commercial sectors. The array of project work has expanded his talent in designing post-tensioning concrete and steel structures; tilt up wall construction; and precast and masonry wall construction types. He enjoys taking on a high level of personal ownership and increasing responsibility for the overall success of the projects he is involved in, maintaining focus on the big picture of scope, schedule and budget, while also ensuring that all details are complete.
Technically proficient in several design programs, including AutoCAD, Bentley Structural, Revit, Autodesk Docs and NAVISWORKS, Drew’s technical skills and problem-solving abilities are exceptional, and he enjoys working through technical challenges.
Whether designing for large industrial and freezer distribution warehouse projects or mentoring others, Drew is a positive influence on team and company culture through his can-do, solutions- oriented approach, and his personal initiative and responsibility.
