Jeff wants to extend a word of thanks to his high school auto shop teacher in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. While there were other influences along his career path, it was this teacher in particular, who spotted his talent for working with his hands and a natural disposition for taking things and making them better.

That’s what Jeff has done since joining VAA in 2006 as a Senior Civil Engineer where he was challenged with building the Civil Engineering Group. He excelled at doing so, growing the group from four to what is now a comprehensive staff of nearly 20. Moving up through the leadership team, Jeff took on a versatile portfolio, including managing multiple projects; developing new VAA client markets; deepening long-standing client relationships; supporting the growth of VAA’s Leadership Team; and charting a course and vision for the future of the firm and its talent, to name just a few. His efforts and energy led to his promotion as CEO in 2014.

In his role as CEO, Jeff brings an analytical approach in his technical responsibilities and a personable nature to fostering business. He continues to enhance the vision of a firm that values strong work ethic and provides notable career development opportunities for employees. Outside his busy work life, you can often find Jeff teaching a friend to fish or enjoying a sunset on the river.
