Jon is a chip off the old block, the son of a geotechnical technician who first exposed him to the field of engineering. Fortunately, Jon loved math and physics in school, leading him to a college degree and to his vocation as a civil engineer.

Jon excels at managing budgets, project teams, and tight deadlines, and his specialized skills include site grading and layout using Civil 3D and hydrology using HydroCAD.

At VAA, Jon is known for being thoughtful, strategic and patient as he leads teams and client relationships. Clients appreciate his ability to deliver quality projects on time and within budget, and his colleagues lean on him for technical and professional growth.

As a native of Minnesota, Jon has stayed close to his roots throughout his career of more than a decade. One of his most interesting projects took him to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he worked through many challenging local requirements while designing the grading and stormwater management for a large rail car storage facility along the Cedar River. For Jon, no project is too intimidating since he employees a strategy of breaking up things into small pieces and tackling them one by one.
