I’ve noticed three actions on a project that always resonate well: do it, do it right and do it right now.

About Mike Gentrup
Mike is a man who thrives being on the move. When he’s downhill skiing and sees a double black diamond, he doesn’t shy away from the challenge, he welcomes it with open poles. His drive to conquer the slopes is also apparent when he’s handling electrical engineering issues – always with the tenacity to push forward.
As VAA’s Electrical Engineering Group Manager, Mike shares that drive with his team as he manages projects and designs low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution and control systems. Mike has more than 25 years of experience spanning utility and non-utility power generation, frac sand, and industrial-ag facilities. He has a talent for mastering technology quickly and applying it to the design process. Idle time is a foreign subject to Mike.
Outside the office, if he is not working on his DIY house and vehicle list, he is helping friends and neighbors with their projects. And Mike always enjoys getting outdoors with his wife and three kids to ski, fish, kayak, or camp at regional and state parks.
Mike’s work mindset is to do what is right for his clients, even if it means he and his team need to spend extra time to deliver a quality product or explore other options. A high point in Mike’s day is when his team faces a project hurdle, and they tackle the design requirements with camaraderie and collaboration to get the job done.
