In addition to developing meaningful client relationships, Scott believes he is privileged to work across many disciplines internally at VAA. Beginning as a structural technician in 2016, Scott has become highly skilled in the development of structural, general arrangement, mechanical, and architectural drawings, giving him a unique viewpoint when working through design issues and client needs.

On a day-to-day basis, Scott’s advanced structural design expertise enables him to lead multi-disciplinary projects, deftly handling coordination, production and project management. He also was instrumental in establishing and expanding VAA’s 3D scanning services, which provides critical information to all disciplines leading to overall project success, and he has specialized experience in marine design.

Scott is so passionate about his field that he serves as the chairperson of the advisory board for the Architectural/Structural Design Program at his alma mater, Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. 

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Scott relishes his role as a father, spending time with family, seeing his kids grow and having new experiences together. In particular, he enjoys road trips, which give him the opportunity to see unfamiliar places, meet new people and feel the open road. He especially loves the mountains, where he feels connected and grounded.
