Structural engineering is not an exact science. There are many solutions to a single problem. My greatest strengths lie in evaluating an issue and laying out conceptual options for the team to decide which approach is best for the project.

About Tina Vath
As a child, Tina constructed Popsicle stick bridges and Lego buildings. She has never lost the passion for creating something new, ultimately leading her to a career in the buildings consulting structural engineering industry. Her technical skills are combined with leadership acumen honed throughout college as the club volleyball and steel bridge team captains and ably transitioned into mentorship, team building and project management skills in the corporate world.
Tina is a licensed structural engineer with decades of experience and demonstrated efficiency in all levels of project design and documentation. At VAA, she leads projects ranging broadly in scope, covering all major building materials, and encompassing the engineering and design of both new and existing structures. Her advanced structural knowledge enables her to help clients develop designs to meet specialized criteria, such as supporting intricate architectural visions, tornado loading for data centers and storm shelters, or strict vibration control requirements for medical and advanced technology projects. She is an expert Revit modeler with proficiency in RAM, RISA, Revit, Enercalc, MS Office Suite, Mathcad and Bluebeam..
Tina says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her career in structural engineering is that each day presents new challenges and opportunities to grow through the sheer variety of projects. In her time at VAA, she has led a multitude of unique projects including:
- A world-class entertainment venue with an F3 tornado-resistant data center in the basement, a conservatory, solar car ports, boutique hotel and full structured wood boardwalk
- A monastery addition for cloistered nuns
- A summer camp pool and gym recreation center designed to meet ICC-500 storm shelter criteria
- A ballroom and rooftop patio addition to a 130-year-old golf course clubhouse
Regardless of the challenge, true to her nature, Tina is an excellent communicator who takes an active role in the collaborative design process, motivating colleagues and clients alike to achieve their best work.
