Resilient design for an eight-level mixed-use building located next to the University of Minnesota’s urban campus.
VAA applied structural design expertise to design a structural base that supports five levels of wood-framed apartments, a multi-tenant retail space on the main floor, and two levels of below-grade parking. Wood structures are usually limited to three stories, however VAA was able to meet the client’s desire for a taller building using innovative and safe design and detailing.
