About Lisa Stock
Lisa has a passion for people. Curious to find out more about her heritage, she was able to trace her Welsh lineage back to the 1600s. Her knack for keeping track of details even helped her locate a handwritten book authored by one of her ancestors in the late 17th century.
Lisa’s inquisitive, collaborative, and detail-oriented nature has been key to her successful 25-year career in human resources. She feels fortunate to have had a great mentor who helped her identify her strengths and encouraged her to play to them. Lisa would go on to obtain certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional.
At VAA, Lisa approaches her management position as one of a servant leader. By leveraging her extensive organizational development and human resource management experience, Lisa is able to partner with employees and leadership to develop and implement effective HR programs that align with the firm’s values and help employees meet their goals. She relies on open communication and building trust, and believes that people do their best work when they feel a sense of belonging.
Reflective of her values and priorities she places on diversity and inclusion, Lisa has volunteered with Disability: IN MN (formerly the Minnesota Business Leadership Network) since 2001 and is currently on the Board of Directors. This employer-based group connects businesses to disability-inclusive employment practices.
