2026 Promotions: Byrne Promoted to Senior Associate, Sundseth to Associate

Highlights:

• Senior Electrical Engineer Derrick Sundseth is promoted to Associate 

VAA is excited to announce its promotions for 2026: Senior Structural Engineer Megan Bryne is promoted to Senior Associate and Senior Electrical Engineer Derrick Sundseth is promoted to Associate. 

While they differentiate in discipline, experiences, and skillset, Bryne and Sundseth have made significant contributions to VAA’s growth and commitment to clients.  

Megan Byrne, Senior Associate

Bryne joined VAA in 2018 and, since then, has taken the lead on several projects and client relationships. A gifted communicator, Byrne readily works through project challenges with clients, contractors, and design teams, sticking to the effort until success is delivered. Her promotion to Senior Associate comes as she continues to be a dedicated mentor to many at VAA.  

Derrick Sundseth, Associate

Sundseth joined VAA in 2021 and quickly developed a high level of trust with project managers, company leadership and clients alike. He possesses a methodical approach to project design, producing consistent deliverables, while improving the electrical engineering department’s ability to meet budgets and schedules. Sundseth’s attention to quality control has led to the development of several tools used internally to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
